Originally being from South Africa, a love for nature & animals has always been within me. Now being based in the UK, drawing an animal on a cold rainy day always transports me back to the warmth of my home for a while, and somehow fills up my spirit a bit on the bad days. Drawing has always been a therapy for me and a way of refocusing when my head begins to overwhelm me. As I began to draw more for myself, others began to request my work for their homes too.

Thus, the beginning of Juta street.

I have named my business after my favourite street in Johannesburg, where I am originally from.
In a season where my head was a mess and I had tried for over a year to name and set up my business, I had taken a trip back home to get some rest & refocusing time. On a lovely warm Saturday morning my husband & I went into the centre of Joburg to check out some shops & this epic local market. We turned onto Juta Street and my hope, excitement, joy & fire all seemed to return to me within an instant. I felt alive & happy & that there was hope for me & my creative career. I felt I could dream again and that my dreams were not too big… there in front of me was the perfect name and a rush of all the feelings I had been missing for so long.

Now two years down the line & after a million hurdles I have finally reached a point where some of those dreams are starting to become real.
